Rajon Rondo, who ranked fourth in the NBA with 9.8 APG last season, is one step closer to representing the USA at the 2010 FIBA World Championships.

USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo today announced that Rajon Rondo is one of 15 players selected as finalists for the 2010 USA World Championship Team. Rondo is one of four true point guards remaining in the final group.
The 15 finalists will reassemble Aug. 9 in New York City and train there Aug. 10-16. The official 12-man USA roster that will compete in the 2010 FIBA World Championship must be submitted to FIBA at the technical meeting that normally is held the day prior to the start of the competition, which begins on Aug. 28 in Turkey.

The Boston Celtics and Xfinity hosted a two-hour sunset harbor cruise on Tuesday, June 29, on the Spirit of Boston to benefit the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. More than 100 Celtics fans joined Celtics players Glen Davis, Kendrick Perkins, Brian Scalabrine, and Celtics Legends Cedric Maxwell and Dana Barros for a night of fun and relaxation.
All fans who purchased a ticket to board the ship not only had the opportunity to contribute to the education and support of disadvantaged children, but also had the chance to live out the ultimate Celtics fan's dream of interacting with their favorite players.
